I take privacy seriously and I’m committed to safeguarding your privacy as much as I possibly can. I will never ask you for personal information unless it is required for the functioning of the website.

By using this site you consent to the processing of your data as described in this policy.

Any personal information you do share, such as your name and email address when you comment, contact me or subscribe to updates, is stored for those purposes only, e.g. to contact you back.

I don’t share any of your personal details with anyone or any company, unless bound to so for legal reasons.

To safeguard your privacy and safety, I recommend that if you upload images to my site when you comment on an article, you should avoid using images with embedded location data, also known as EXIF GPS. This is because other visitors of the website can download and extract any location data from those images.

As you browse the website, there are some items of non personal and non identifiable data that are collected by the website’s software. This may include information such as browser type, language preference, referring site, date and time of visit, duration of visit, URL clickstream, and actions undertaken (e.g. if you have subscribed to updates, left comments, etc.). You cannot be identified from this information and it is only used for statistical and logistical running of the website and to understand how visitors use the site.

When you leave a comment on the website, data is collected by the website’s software on the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent, to help spam detection. When your comment is approved, it as well as your profile picture are visible to the public.

Articles on this site may include embedded content in the form of videos, images or articles from other websites. Embedded content behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. You are therefore advised to check the Privacy Policy for those websites if you interact with such content.

I do not knowingly collect (or intend to) any information from children.

You are entitled to request a copy of your information, or request to be forgotten according to your local law,. To do either of these, please do so from the Contact Me form. Note that if you request to be forgotten, most information will be removed but this does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

SECURITY

I will take all reasonable steps to keep your Personal Data safe.

I do not, however, have any control over what happens between your device and the boundary of our information infrastructure. You should be aware of the many information security risks that exist and take appropriate steps to safeguard your own information. I accept no liability in respect of breaches that occur beyond our sphere of control.

Even though I try my best I can not guarantee the security of information. However, I promise to notify suitable authorities of data breaches. I will also notify you if there is a threat to your rights or interests. I will do everything I reasonably can to prevent security breaches and to assist authorities should any breaches occur.

The data mentioned above is stored on my system with the website provider, Squarespace.

Only website administrators have access to its content and data collected.
